It’s finally time to get the garden going – a couple of heirloom tomato plants, a volunteer cherry tomato plant from last year, lemon cucumbers, black radishes, lettuces, kale, spinach and arugula, regular basil and one called lettuce leaf basil, yellow squash & zucchini, plus lots of herbs that have come back and flowers, zinnias by the score. So, the garden at 1204 Fifth Avenue North has been planted, watered with water from my rain barrel and mulched with straw. Let the fun begin!
I’m sensing a beautiful salad in the works. 🙂

Yes, we had our first salad from the garden on Saturday evening. The greens were so tender and crispy!
Hurray for our gardens! And best wishes for another bountiful season. We should get together soon and have a big salad. xox n.
